About the event
Protecting water quality can start in your own yard! In this program Master Gardener Karen Newbern will discuss what rain gardens are, how they function, and how to establish them in residential situations. Rain gardens can also help filter out pollutants in runoff and provide food and shelter for butterflies, song birds and other wildlife. Plant lists and other resources will be available.
The Growing Together series of educational programs are free and open to the public and will provide information on relevant gardening topics for all levels of gardeners, from beginners to experienced. The selected programs will present research-based gardening techniques that are in alignment with the education requirements of the Wisconsin Extension Master Gardener program.
