About the event
Most folks try to attract birds by putting up bird houses and filling bird feeders, but appropriate landscaping to invite birds to your yard is far more. Speaker Coggin Heeringa will describe the year-round need of our favorite birds and explain how following bird-friendly landscape principles, most important of which are the use of native plants and layered plantings, to help create viable habitats for birds and other wildlife.
Coggin Heeringa, is the President of the Door Peninsula Chapter of Wild Ones, and a co-chairman of The DCMGA Education Committee. She and her husband feed birds throughout the year with feeders and native trees, shrubs, and wildflowers.
