About the event

The Fall Seminar features the lecture "Native Shrubs and Trees for the Birds and the Bees,"  by David Garison Stevens, Curator of Longnecker Horticultural Gardens at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Arboretum. Emily Stone, Naturalist/Education Director at the Cable Natural History Museum in Cable, Wisconsin will present "Why Monarchs Need Volcanoes." Together these presentations will explore the mutually beneficial relationship between native plants and the pollinators they support.


Tickets must be purchased in advance at https://doorcountytickets.com/organizations/door-county-master-gardeners  Tickets are $10 and include lunch.


With the understanding that this is an important topic in this time of declining populations of birds, bees and butterflies; a coalition of botanic, environmental, and nature organizations of Door County have collaborated to promote this presentation in order to create a more resilient and healthier ecosystem.
